Meet your Parenting Coach Lindsay Swanberg

Having worked closely with children and families for 23 years, Lindsay provides her coaching services to the public. In addition to her life's work, she has a college degree with an emphasis on child development and family studies, and completes 15-25+ hours of ECE training annually. She has completed 900 hours in college level courses and community-based trainings in early childhood education, child development, child psychology, and family studies. She also writes for and about children at LindsaySwanberg.com.

What to Expect

I offer sessions via Zoom that allow us to discuss what you're experiencing, your concerns, what you'd like to see change, and allow me to view your interactions with your child and their behavior, needs, temperament style, communication style, etc. We apply techniques for making changes, we form a plan to get there as smoothly as possible, we discuss other supportive resources for parents that may be able to help in your personal circumstances, and we develop goals for any follow-up visits.

Please be aware that I am not a therapist, lawyer, nor medical professional.
I can't offer legal advice or make any kinds of diagnoses.

What I do is observe you with your child to provide the wisdom and insight that I've developed over more than two decades of working closely with children to help you make progress toward a healthier and happier family; support you by listening to your needs, and sharing tried and true methods for resolving issues and making lasting improvements; provide knowledge that has stemmed from a combination of studying child development in college, putting this knowledge into action during the 20+ years that I've worked closely with children day in and day out, and the ever-growing knowledge I gain from taking 15-25+ hours of continuing education courses, every year. My most meaningful work is helping improve the quality of life for children and their families!

I offer free 15 minute consultations for new clients who would like to chat with me before signing up for parent coaching. Intake forms can be emailed or mailed to you, your choice.

Parents thrive when we have insight into better parenting practices, when we feel empowered by our actions. Our families thrive when we find a healthy, harmonious balance between raising children and living our busy lives, often full of pressing obligations. This guide was written to provide that peace of mind.

Learn how to get to the heart of matters with your children, improving your own sense of parenting, benefiting the development of your child, creating special bonds and memories that will last long-term, and letting go of the worn-out parenting methods of the past.

This guide will walk you through multiple topics that every parent, guardian, and child care provider should know including parenting styles of adults, temperament styles of children and how each one affects how they approach and respond to the world around them, developmental stages for children ages newborn through five, the effects of stress in childhood, how to encourage play-based learning, peaceful and effective communication to help children *want* to listen, attachment styles, age appropriate activities for the typically developing newborn through five year old, the significance of consistency, resilience, connection, and much more!

“Wholesome parenting contains the philosophy that knowing more about healthy parenting means we can provide more as parents to our children and families; it intends to offer a more complete view of raising grounded, nourished, and happy kids.
Wholesome parenting means approaching our parenting practice from a more well-rounded understanding of what children need from us to support them in becoming their healthiest and happiest selves. It means we intentionally put as much of our hearts into this process as possible, while working to leave our ego, fears, and past traumas outside the door of our relationships with our children. It means being able to look at our parenting from as many angles as possible. It means bringing our whole self to the table. Wholesome parenting is trustworthy, safe, patient, kind, consistent, playful, joyful, and connected. I’ll explain how.”
